€5 million investment to transform The Montenotte Hotel

A multi-million euro redevelopment is currently underway at The Montenotte Hotel in Cork city centre.

The €5 million investment by hotel owner, Frankie Whelehan of Choice Hotels Group, will see the addition of several new and exciting features including a stunning new panoramic bar and restaurant, private cinema, enticing library, enhanced conferencing facilities as well as the refurbishment of all 107 bedrooms at the hotel. One of the most dramatic developments is the 6 metre outdoor covered terrace spanning the entire length of the main building boasting uninterrupted and enviable views over Cork city and the River Lee.

Set on six acres with ample parking, this boutique hotel offers some of the best views of Cork city. The Montenotte Hotel will undoubtedly prove a popular location for seminars, weddings and corporate events.  The new conference area, complete with private cinema, high speed broadband, meeting rooms and a number of dining options will provide both indigenous and multinational clients with some of the best facilities in the region also.

Work has already commenced at the hotel and is expected to continue through April and May 2016.  The hotel reception, bar and restaurant including the newly extended terrace are currently under construction, while work on the leisure centre, the private cinema and conference facilities are due to be completed shortly. The hotel is open throughout the works which are due to be completed in early June 2016.
