Exceptional Performance and Intelligent Control with Grant’s Aerona R290 Heat Pump
For over 45 years, Grant has been at the forefront of the plumbing and heating industry, with cutting edge innovative product design and development to support a sustainable future. Further demonstrating its commitment to delivering sustainable heating solutions which support the drive towards 2030 carbon reduction targets, Grant continues to invest in innovation and training across its product portfolio to support the construction industry’s transition to low carbon heating.
Alongside continued product development, Grant has also invested in advanced digital design software to enhance its Heating Design & Specification Service, enabling more accurate system sizing, improved efficiency and regulatory compliance from the earliest stages of a project. This integrated approach to product innovation and digital workflow supports performance, optimisation and long-term decarbonisation across new build and deep retrofit projects.
A key feature of Grant’s integrated home heating solutions is the next generation Grant Aerona R290 heat pump. Built upon three core pillars: design, performance and peace of mind, the Aerona R290 inverter driven air source heat pump was designed in Ireland, specifically for the Irish and UK climate, which typically experiences higher moisture levels.
The Aerona R290 achieves A+++ ErP ratings, with SCOPs up to 4.88 and is capable of 75°C flow temperature; however, correct system design will ensure that a lower more efficient flow temperature is utilised. The range features five models in outputs of 4kW – 16k which have been tested to perform in extreme low and high temperatures with performance levels in terms of kW output consistent regardless of the climate and outside temperature. The entire Aerona R290 range has also been recognised by Quiet Mark for its ultra-low noise levels.
Models within the Aerona R290 range can be monitored and managed remotely using the Aerona Smart Controller, giving both installers and homeowners full control of their heat pump system and providing offsite diagnostic support when required. Designed for straightforward set-up and commissioning, the Aerona Smart Controller offers real-time communication with the heat pump, ensuring steady, responsive performance in modern heating systems. As a weather-compensated controller, it monitors the outside temperature and adjusts the heat pump’s operation to work at its optimum efficiency based on outdoor conditions. Through a web-based portal and mobile app, homeowners can monitor and adjust controller settings remotely, while installers can remotely access the heat pump and analyse system performance data to assist with diagnostics and ongoing support.
