John Reddy appointed Technical Development Manager of Ecocem Ireland Ltd

John Reddy has been appointed as Technical Development Manager of Ecocem Ireland Ltd, John has been with Ecocem since 2004.

In his new position, John will manage the three areas of the business: Specification (the promotion of Ecocem’s high performance cement to Engineers, Architects and policy makers), Technical & Quality Functions (ensuring the consistency and quality of Ecocem’s output and that Ecocem customers have the best and latest advice to maximise performance).

John will also manage a new department: Innovation – John will manage a budget of over €300,000 to bring new state of the art technological and environmentally friendly advancements to the construction market, in Ireland and Europe.

In order to fulfil his responsibilities, John will oversee a team of 5.

John holds an MSc (Distinction) in Advanced Concrete Technology from Queen’s University Belfast and is a Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland (having graduated from DIT Bolton St). He is also one of a select few Irish Corporate Members of the Institute of Concrete Technology (UK). John is one of the longest serving members of the Ecocem Team.

Ecocem Ireland is Ireland’s premier producer of high performance, low carbon cements; “Ecocem Cement”.

Ecocem Cement, technically known as GGBS (Ground Granulated Blastfurnace Slag) is the best available technology for high performance low carbon cements, and is already used extensively in the United Kingdom on projects such as the Olympic Stadium, Croswell Tunnel and The Shard. GGBS has also been used in local projects in Manchester and Liverpool such as One ST Peter’s Square and BDP Studios in Manchester.   

Ecocem Ireland is a subsidiary of Ecocem Materials, who also own and operate plants in France and the Benelux region. Their annual capacity exceeds 1.4 million and their cementitious products have been used in prestigious projects all over Europe such as the Tour Odeon in Monaco as well as other prestigious projects.
