McHale appoints Declan Spillane as Komatsu Area Sales Manager for the Munster region

McHale Plant Sales of Birdhill has strengthened its sales representation in the South West with the appointment of Declan Spillane as Komatsu Area Sales Manager for the Munster region.

From Kerry, Declan is resident outside Killarney at Ballymalis near Beaufort. Following his early education in Killorglin, he joined crane maker Leibherr in Killarney under an apprenticeship programme. From there, he moved to London in 1995 where he joined the high-profile Murphy Civil Engineering company as a field-based construction and plant engineer.

Returning to Ireland in 1999, Declan held various posts in Field Engineering and Areas Sales management with the importers and distributors of Caterpillar and Volvo heavy plant and machinery.

Highly experienced, both in technical and sales roles, his appointment to represent Komatsu in Munster is described by McHale Plant Sales managing director Michael McHale as ‘exceedingly timely’ given ‘the wide range of Komatsu excavators, dozers, loaders and dump trucks that now come fitted with ‘intelligent’ technology that customers look to sales personnel to explain.’
