CITA forms Media Partnership with Irish Building Magazine

Irish Building magazine has been selected as the exclusive Construction Industry Media Partner of the Construction IT Alliance (CITA).

CITA General Manager Suzanne Purcell says she believes the partnership with Ireland’s leading construction industry magazine will ‘help extend the reach of our message to a much broader community’. In tandem with the partnership, CITA is re-launching its www.cita.ie website and its members’ newsletter.
Some 200 Irish companies – comprising engineering and architectural consultancies, building services firms, contractors , sub-contractors and builders’ providers/suppliers – are members of CITA which includes a large number of third level colleges.

Irish Building magazine is the industry’s most widely read publication, distributed to key decision makers and players across the construction sector from concept to construction. www.irishbuildingmagazine.ie is ‘must see’ viewing for all that are interested in related industry news. From a social media perspective, Irish Building’s regular online update’s of CITA activities through web news, twitter, facebook and LinkedIn will help feed social media activity among the Alliances’s members that will further extend the impact of its work to promote good IT practice in the industry.

At the moment, the main focus for CITA is the promotion of Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a means to make the Irish building industry more efficient, sustainable and competitive, says Dr. Hore, who is the Assistant Head of DIT’s School of Surveying and Construction Management and one of the founders of the network . “BIM is a better way to design and build buildings and by coming together to promote initiatives like BIM we can have a stronger influence on creating positive change throughout the industry.”

Over the course of 2015, CITA will be holding a series of six Dublin event and six regional events focused on BIM, smarter building initiatives and the PAS1192-2 specification for information management in the capital/delivery phase of construction projects.

Irish Building’s marketing director Colin Walsh says he is delighted with the partnership. “Irish Building has been at the forefront of bringing the news of BIM, and other IT innovations, to the industry and this partnership with CITA allows us to build further on that track record,” said Walsh. “Irish Building would be happy to open a dialogue with CITA members who have their own story about how BIM is making a difference to their projects.”
