Yelp Inc. (NYSE: YELP), the company that connects consumers with local businesses, today announced the opening of its new European HQ in Dublin with plans to create over 100 new jobs.

To support and drive Yelp’s growth across Europe, a wide range of new roles are being created, ranging from sales executive to account management and from product engineering to finance. “Expanding Yelp’s international operations with the opening of our new office in Dublin is a landmark moment in the company’s history. Speaking after a meeting with Yelp executives in their offices in San Francisco, the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD welcomed the announcement saying “I’m delighted to welcome the 100 new jobs that Yelp will create with the opening of its new European HQ in Dublin. As part of our recovery plan it is important for Ireland to continue to win investments from leading international digital media companies by providing an excellent business environment supported by our exceptionally talented people and our strong track record. Silicon Valley is a vitally important market for Ireland. My visit here this week is all about cementing and reinforcing existing investor relationships as well as building new connections with a view to securing new jobs and investment for Ireland.

Welcoming the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said: “We have specifically targeted digital industries as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and in recent years we have seen significant growth in this area. Today’s announcement that Yelp, a dynamic company in this sector, is establishing its European HQ in Dublin with the creation of 100 jobs is very welcome news and I wish them every success with this project”.
