132 new jobs for Dublin and Galway

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD announced today announced the creation of 132 new jobs for Dublin and Galway from five North American and European high-growth companies.

The investments are supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.

IDA Ireland’s Emerging Business Division, the section of the Agency specialising in attracting high-growth companies, continues to win high-value jobs in IT, internet and digital media.

The new jobs are to be spread across a range of sectors including IT, Life Sciences and Financial Services.

The companies creating the new jobs are:

•    (50) New Relic – the San Francisco headquartered software analytics company, is establishing its EMEA HQ in Dublin, with the creation of 50 new jobs.

•    (30) SEKO MedTec Solutions, an operating company of Sutherland Global Logistics (SGL), a global logistics industry leader, today announced plans to establish a European Control Centre in Galway, with the creation of 30 jobs.

•    (22) NeoMed –     NeoMed, Inc., a leading manufacturer of enteral nutrition delivery devices, today announced plans to establish an EMEA Headquarters in Dublin, with the creation of 22 jobs. Their new EMEA HQ will be responsible for all sales outside of the US.

•    (20) capSpire – a global consulting and solutions company serving the energy industry is opening its first international office which will allow the firm to better serve its existing European clients.  The company will create 20 new jobs in business consultancy and software development.

•    (10) Starting Dot – StartingDot, the Paris based internet domain name registry business, today announced the establishment of a Finance and Operations Centre in Dublin creating 10 jobs across a range of activities including sales, finance, IT and customer support.

In recent years, IDA Ireland has broadened and deepened its approach to look towards embracing not just large multinational corporations (MNCs), but also working with high-growth companies, who aspire to be the MNCs of the future. This focus is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs. Today’s announcements are the result of IDA Ireland’s new policies in this area.

Making the announcement, Minister Bruton TD said: “Targeting high-growth emerging companies is a key part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs. The thinking behind this drive is that these companies will establish deep roots here from early in their growth and make a substantial impact on our economy. There is also of course the possibility that one of these companies will turn into a world-leading company of the future.

“Today’s announcement that 5 fast-growing young companies, across a range of fast-growing sectors, are locating operations in Dublin and Galway with the creation of 132 jobs is great news for Ireland. We in Government are determined to build on this to ensure that we can continue to see the flow of multinational investment to Ireland and help create the growth and jobs we need”.
