ESBI to create 80 engineering and tech jobs
While announcing a recruitment drive for ESB International, Managing director Ollie Brogan said: “There is massive investment in energy infrastructure across all of our key markets and we have recently secured new contracts in the Middle East, Turkey and South Africa. The company plans to recruit 80 new engineering and technical professionals over the next five years in response to growing demand for engineering services from the international energy sector.
“We are on track to double turnover from our international operations over the next five years and will need skilled people from all of the main engineering disciplines to support that growth.”
The engineering consultancy owned by ESB is currently expanding its business development team worldwide and recently opened a new office in Turkey. The company plans to open a number of other offices in key markets during 2013.

Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources Pat Rabbitte TD said the 80 new positions were “high quality, export-orientated jobs which will showcase the best of Irish engineering expertise in over 20 key international markets”.
Chief executive of ESB Pat O’Doherty added: “Through our international consulting business, we are not only showcasing Irish engineering talent overseas but are also drawing on international best practice to enhance our domestic expertise and developing critical skills to support Ireland’s future growth and development.”
Since its establishment almost 40 years ago, ESB International has completed projects in 115 countries and currently employs 800 people. The company specialises in the delivery of large scale, capital infrastructure projects on behalf of its parent company ESB and international clients.
ESB International is targeting experienced energy sector consultants and engineers at Career Zoo, the career fair taking place on 9 February at the National Convention Centre.
