All Aboard! Kilsaran’s Essential Learning Series breakfast events to dock in Dublin & Belfast
Kilsaran International continues its hugely successful Essential Learning Series this year on the back of bumper breakfast events in Cork and Galway.
The company will deliver seminars on a range of relevant topics in the format of a breakfast briefing at Dublin’s Smock Alley on 30 January and aboard the HMS Caroline in Belfast on 27 February 2020.
These free, early-morning events have been purposely designed to be concise yet informative, so that attendees can brush up on their knowledge without detracting too much from their busy daily schedules.
Each topic will address common queries and bridge the gap between industry understanding of relevant products, standards and their implementation, providing up to date information and insight.
“Our breakfast series of seminars will benefit all construction professionals,” says Keith Goodwin, Group Technical Manager with Kilsaran International. “It will examine the roles, responsibilities and perspectives of all parties as well as providing an overview of current industry standards, identifying and discussing common queries and issues, and offering practical tips for the correct adherence to current standards, codes of practice and the building regulations.”
The learning series was a direct response to the industry, he explains. “With all the changes in building regulations specifically related to our industry, we decided to start offering these learning series. We offered a different topic every month and have done that for a couple of years.” Originally offering breakfast briefings at the company’s in-house training room in Dunboyne, the team recognised that they were missing out on a crucial catchment area. “We noted that we were only catching people who were within travelling distance of ourselves. There are a lot of people working in the construction sphere in the urban centres that don’t drive or it’s just not feasible to drop out for an hour. People had expressed enough interest in the programme that we are extending our reach to Cork, Galway, Belfast and Dublin.”
With a technical department of nearly thirty staff, dealing with queries from the industry on a day-to-day basis, the industry need for clarification and guidance on certain topics was clear to the team at Kilsaran, according to Goodwin. “Our team are handling many of the same kind of queries all the time. Where we felt that people didn’t perhaps understand something, we felt that there was an advantage to create some sort of training or seminar on whatever the topic might be to dispel some of the myths and make it easier for some people to understand. That genuinely has been the driver for us as a company in assembling our events and it aids us in building more efficient working relationships with both specifiers and our customers.”
“Kilsaran’s Essential Learning Series is an invaluable learning tool for all construction professionals. Their experienced technical team impart a wealth of knowledge and expertise that is testament to Kilsaran’s dedication to manufacturing excellence and commitment to best practice within the construction industry.” — Tom Parlon, Director General, Construction Industry Federation.
