Arthur Cox receives Ibec environment award
Arthur Cox has received the Ibec International Business Cooperation Award 2013 for its Mwandi Project which offers long term sustainable support for Mwandi, a rural area in the south west of Zambia. The Ibec Environment Awards recognise companies that combine innovation, economic viability and environmental concerns.
Commenting on the award, Brian O’Gorman, Managing Partner of Arthur Cox, said: “We are especially proud to win this award as the Arthur Cox Mwandi Project is led by our trainees. Now in its sixth year, the initiative credits much of its success to its partnership with the local community. Trainees who have participated in the project have learned a great deal from their interactions with local leaders, government and NGOs in Zambia and have brought these experiences and skills back with them to their work at Arthur Cox.”
The awards are the Irish stage of the 2014 European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE). Arthur Cox will go on to compete with companies from across Europe in November 2014.
