Energia toasts to deal with Irish Handmade Glass
A new deal between Irish Handmade Glass and the energy supplier Energia was announced today, one which should prove fruitful and successful in the long-term for both companies.
The Irish-based energy supplier will guarantee a plentiful supply of 260,000 kilowatts of energy overall to Irish Handmade Glass, who have a glass factory based in Waterford City.
As part of the deal, Irish Handmade Glass will feature in Energia’s current radio advertising campaign in Ireland.
The Handmade Glass factory was a replacement for what was the Waterford Crystal Factory and provides a number of jobs in Waterford and surrounding areas.
Tony Hayes of Irish Handmade Glass had nothing but positive things to say about pricing: “We are delighted to sign a supply deal with Energia. In the current tough environment, every business is looking for the most competitively priced energy deal and quality customer service. We are happy we are getting both from Energia.”
The key account manager for the company, Aidan Brennan, said, “Energia has grown to become Ireland’s leading business energy supplier, so we are delighted that Irish Handmade Glass has signed a gas supply deal with us. Whether it’s for gas or conventional or renewable electricity, Energia is proving to be the supplier of choice for 37% Irish SME businesses.”
The supplier remains firmly rooted in the business energy market in Ireland, but is also on track to enter the domestic gas and electricity market in January 2014.
Energia is part of the Viridian Group, a recent bidder for Bord Gáis Energy, which is valued at an estimated €1.5bn.
