NewNowNext Talks Series with Tatiana Bilbao

The Irish Architecture Foundation and Arup opened present a talk by Mexican architect Tatiana Bilbao, the second in the NEWNOWNEXT free architectural talks series featuring current and next generation architects from across the globe.

Tatiana Bilbao will speak at the Samuel Beckett Theatre on Tuesday June 18 at 6.30pm. The title of her talk is ‘The Way Things Go’.

Tatiana Bilbao (Mexico) has been fascinated by space and her surroundings since childhood. Now one of Mexico’s most relevant architects, she enjoys global recognition, with projects as diverse as a beach house with the artist Gabriel Orozco, a masterplan for an art-filled botanical garden, a research building for a technical university and a spiritual refuge in Mexico’s Jalisco Mountains. According to the New York Times, “her work is a welcome reminder that sensitive architecture doesn’t have to be meek and unimaginative”.

Later in the year on the 5th of September we have Dan Stubbergaard (Denmark), founder of COBE Architects, www.cobe.dk , 2012 winners of Scandinavia’s prestigious Nykredit Architecture Prize and known for ambitious metropolitan developments, and on the 27th of  November Andrew Griffin and Maxim Laroussi of Architecture Republic (IRL), www.architecture-republic.com, with offices in Dublin and Copenhagen, who operate in the fields of architecture, urbanism and landscape design.

Doors open at 6pm for each for the four talks.
All free to the public.
