Work on the N7 and N11 upgrade begins
A major roads upgrade project officially gets under way today, with Transport Minister Leo Varadkar set to officially start work on the N7 and N11 improvements.
The €282m project will remove the bottleneck at Newlands Cross on the N7 in Dublin, and upgrade the N11 between Arklow and Rathnew to a four-lane dual carriageway.
The Newlands Cross Fly-over will remove the last traffic light between Cork, Limerick, Waterford and the border with Northern Ireland.
The N11 upgrade will improve road safety on a dangerous stretch of road and will also include the first service station on the N11, on the Gorey bypass.
The entire project is due to be completed within two years.
