Engineers Ireland Awards CPD Accredited Employer Standard to BAM Group Ireland

BAM has been awarded the prestigious CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Accredited Employer Standard by Engineers Ireland.

Established in 1958, BAM is one of Ireland’s longest established indigenous construction companies and has multiple projects underway across Ireland. Through its skilled, experienced workforce the multinational company maintains its position as a leading civil engineering and building business.

John Power, Chartered Engineer and Director General of Engineers Ireland, commented, “I wish to pay tribute to everyone in BAM on achieving this significant and highly regarded award. And, given the downturn we have been able to retain much of our core workforce; most of them working within Ireland and some gaining valuable niche expertise on BAM projects across the world.”

BAM, which secured a mix of public and private projects (PPPs) in 2012/2013, delivers major social and infrastructural projects that support the development of the Irish economy. In the past year, the company was awarded and commenced works for the construction of eight schools under a PPP Schools Bundle contract. Other projects underway include the Tralee Bypass, Kerry; Sutherland School of Law in UCD; Ballymore Water Treatment Plant for Dublin City Council; and together with sister company Wayss & Freytag, the Corrib Gas 4.9km tunnel under Sruwaddacon Bay in north Mayo for Shell E&P Ireland.
