Hilton Dublin Completes Major Refurbishment Programme
Hilton Worldwide has recently announced the completion of a capital investment programme resulting in the renovation of the conference and event facilities at Hilton Dublin, on Charlemont Place, including the addition of three new meeting rooms. The €.5m upgrade to all of the hotel’s meeting rooms includes an impressive revamp of the landmark property’s courtyard.
Key changes to the 193-bedroomed property, which were unveiled today, include a resizing of the main conference rooms, of which there are now seven, new carpets, upholstery and furnishings, together with the addition of a dedicated refreshments room for event delegates. The unique nature of the refreshment room allows meeting participants to refuel throughout the day and enjoy freshly brewed bean to cup coffee, rather than waiting for appointed coffee breaks – which is the norm in most hotels.
Hilton Dublin has added three new state-of-the-art meeting rooms to its portfolio including The Harcourt Suite, which overlooks the hotel’s courtyard, which has been upgraded to provide a modern outdoor heated area for after work drinks, BBQ’s, family occasions or a break from the boardroom.
The Grand Canal, which runs by the hotel, served as inspiration for the design of the new meeting rooms, which can be seen in the flowing pattern on the carpet and through the bespoke artwork.
Steve Cassidy, area Vice President at Hilton Worldwide said, “2013 has already seen significant developments for Hilton Worldwide in Dublin and a number of recent investments and franchise agreements have demonstrated our clear vote of confidence in the Irish market. We believe that investment is essential in helping to reignite the hospitality sector and are pleased to report that our properties in Dublin are performing exceptionally well. Hilton Dublin is a landmark hotel in a great location and we strongly believe that this recent investment will help further drive our conference and events business, as we take a fresh look at what we do for our guests.”
General Manager at Hilton Dublin, Paul Flavin, said, “Whilst the recession did impact on event bookings, we have seen a recent uplift in conference and events activity and we feel that the outlook for 2013/2014 is really positive.”
“At Hilton Dublin we always strive to meet the demands of our international and domestic clients with the highest levels of service, matched by the great facilities for which the Hilton brand is world renowned. The new events’ areas are first class and the upgrade of our courtyard makes the hotel a venue that is suitable for a range of occasions, private or corporate. The hotel team has had a huge input into the finished product, which I think was really important in getting it right for our market.”
As part of the hotel’s makeover, a new workstation for those who need to work on the move has also been created and is the perfect pit-stop from which to file copy, check emails, recharge phones or browse the Internet. The Stil Bar Workstation offers free WiFi and overlooks the Grand Canal, so is a welcome break from the office, with none of the drawbacks that working remotely can often pose.
Hilton Dublin can cater for up to 400 delegates in its new state-of-the art conference rooms, all of which provide the most up-to-date audio visual equipment and high speed wireless internet access.
All of the hotel’s meeting rooms have floor to ceiling windows, providing natural lighting, which is a key requirement of many conference event organisers.
Hilton Dublin in Charlemont Place is located by the capital’s historic Grand Canal and is just minutes from Grafton St., whilst remaining out of the main traffic drag of the city centre. As well as avoiding traffic jams, those travelling by car can make use of the hotel’s ample parking facilities. The Charlemont Green Line Luas stop is located on the hotel’s doorstep, which is a huge benefit for travelling delegates looking to explore the rest of Dublin City.
To celebrate the launch of the revamped facilities, Hilton Dublin is offering a free gift of dinner for two at the Hotel’s Uisce Restaurant. Book a conference for 50 or more delegates during July 2013 to receive a complimentary meal, which can be used as a surprise gift or incentive for delegates or as a post-conference indulgence for the hard-working booker.
Hilton Dublin’s Uisce Restaurant is fronted by the award-winning Dublin chef, Gareth Carberry, whose no-nonsense approach to serving great food, most of which he sources locally, has earned him positive plaudits from business and leisure guests alike. For less formal dining, the hotel’s Stil Bar can cater for breakfast, business-brunch and pre-dinner drinks, whilst the courtyard is great for summer BBQ’s or post work outings.
