Orbitus Adds HR Advisory to Legal and Tax Services

Orbitus, an Irish legal and tax advisory firm, has announced the launch of its new Human Resources (HR) offering as part of its continued expansion. The move reflects the momentum behind the firm’s ambitious growth strategy, which has seen it scale rapidly since its foundation.

The new division, which will be headed by seasoned HR specialist Jennifer O’ Brien, will provide support to organisations across the full spectrum of HR requirements, from day-to-day employee relations to more complex organisational change. Services will include strategic workforce planning, compliance with employment legislation, policy development, recruitment processes, employee engagement, training, and organisational culture. By combining HR expertise with established legal and tax knowledge, Orbitus aims to deliver integrated guidance that addresses both the operational and regulatory aspects of managing people.

The firm opened its headquarters in Cork in October 2022 and began operations in September 2023 with just four employees in their Tralee office. The firm has grown to a team of 32 and continues to expand.

Recruitment is underway for 15 additional positions across technology, customer experience, and tax. Over the next 12 to 24 months, Orbitus expects to more than double its workforce, with opportunities offered in both remote and hybrid positions.

To support this growth, the firm has recently relocated to a larger office in Tralee. The new premises, designed to accommodate an expanding team and enhanced operational needs, mark a significant milestone in the company’s development.

Benjamin Hardy of Orbitus said the establishment of the HR division reflects growing demand for joined-up advisory services: “The launch of the new HR division is another step in building out Orbitus’ comprehensive advisory platform as the firm scales to meet rising client demand. HR challenges often overlap with legal and tax considerations, and by establishing this division, we are strengthening our ability to support organisations in managing their people effectively while ensuring compliance and good governance.

Our move to a new state-of-the-art office in Tralee reflects the pace of our growth over the past year. We started with a team of just four and have grown to more than thirty colleagues in a short period of time, with further recruitment already underway. The new premises will provide us with the space and resources we need to expand our workforce, collaborate more effectively, and continue building the multi-disciplinary platform our clients require. This investment in our people and our infrastructure underpins our long-term strategy to grow the business in Tralee and Cork, and to strengthen our presence nationally”.

Jennifer O’Brien, Head of HR at Orbitus, said, “Irish employers are navigating a complex and fast-evolving HR landscape. From talent shortages and hybrid working models to growing compliance demands and rising employee expectations, there is significant pressure on organisations to adapt quickly and strategically. At the same time, this presents a real opportunity for employers to differentiate by investing in culture, leadership, and long-term workforce planning. Our aim at Orbitus is to provide practical, joined-up guidance that aligns people strategy with business goals, enabling our clients to not only meet today’s challenges but to thrive in the future of work”.

Orbitus HR is part of the Orbitus Group, which provides law, taxation, compliance and strategic planning services. The launch of the HR division, alongside the firm’s move into new premises and its recruitment drive, marks the latest stage in its expansion strategy.
