Dornan has announced its latest initiative to promote mental health awareness by teaming up with legendary rugby pundit Brent Pope and his ‘The Elephant in the Room’ movement. This collaboration underscores Dornan’s commitment to creating a supportive and empowered environment for all employees.

Pope made the journey to Dornan’s Cork HQ to unveil an elephant sculpture. This sculpture serves as a powerful symbol, inviting employees to address the often-overlooked topic of mental health. Named ‘Thea’ after the Irish goddess of light, sun, and moon, the sculpture represents Dornan’s commitment to supporting employees through both their brightest and darkest times. Brent was also on hand to speak to Dornan team members about his own mental health journey and how we can look after ourselves and each other better by being open and honest about our mental health.

Brent Pope’s Elephant in the Room project, which aims to raise awareness about mental health in the workplace, resonated deeply with Dornan’s core values. The handprints on ‘Thea’ are those of Dornan employees, symbolising collective support and involvement in this mental health initiative. This engagement reinforces the idea that Dornan is always ready to offer a helping hand.

Through this partnership, Dornan aims to foster an environment where discussions about mental health are encouraged and supported. Dornan’s dedication to employee wellbeing and mental health awareness is unwavering, and this initiative marks a significant step towards creating a more understanding and supportive workplace.
