Sisk achieves Ibec KeepWell Mark

John Sisk & Son, Ireland’s largest construction company, has successfully achieved accreditation for its commitment to employee wellbeing by being awarded The KeepWell Mark from Ibec, Ireland’s largest and most influential business representation organisation.

The KeepWell Mark is a national accreditation developed by Ibec that recognises organisations who put the wellbeing of employees at the forefront of company policy. The first of its kind in Ireland, the KeepWell Mark comprises a set of health and wellbeing standards that companies can achieve through the promotion of employee wellbeing in the workplace. The process helps companies to benchmark workplace employee wellbeing activity through a set of systematic and methodical steps, providing full reporting and feedback at every step of the way.

The framework includes a self-assessment, an onsite assessment from an Ibec approved external assessor, and culminates with a report that outlines strengths and areas for improvement which facilitates the company to chart its way to further success when it comes to employee wellbeing.

On achieving the KeepWell Mark, Stephen Bowcott, CEO of John Sisk & Son said: “The health & wellbeing of our 1,700 employees and the 7,500 employees of our supply chain is a top priority. We are proud to achieve this accreditation as it demonstrates our commitment to them and how we have raised the standards of employee health and wellbeing across our business and the wider construction sector. As a family owned business our core values of Care, Integrity and Excellence are at the heart of what we do. We are delighted to be recognised for our continuous focus in this area and to share with and learn from, like-minded companies who are committed to improving mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.”

Commenting, Danny McCoy, Ibec CEO, said: “Employee wellbeing has risen to the top of the agenda for businesses globally. Ibec has responded to this growing need by developing a dedicated and recognised programme of accreditation which provides employers with a series of benchmarks and a best-in-class employee wellbeing framework. We are delighted that Sisk, one of Ireland’s most venerable businesses, has achieved the KeepWell Mark and wish the group continued success in the future.”

In addition, Sisk has been nominated in three categories at the KeepWell Awards 2020.  The nominations are in the Best in Class: Leadership category, the Best in Class: Mental Health category and the Best Wellbeing Initiative category.
