Dunne Building and Civil Engineering announced as the Design and Construction of the New Tullamore Distillery Project
Dunne Building and Civil Engineering are delighted to announce that they have been awarded the Design and Construction of the New Tullamore Distillery Project in County Offaly, Ireland for William Grant & Sons.
Phase 1 of the project worth €20m to Dunne consists of the main distillery building, co-products building, filling store, two warehouses, external bunded areas for tanks & vessels, installation of the mechanical & electrical package to all buildings and all associated external hard & soft landscaping. Phase 1 of the project is 79 weeks starting on the 7th May 2013 and is expected to employ up to 250 workers at its peak.
The works consist of stripping 75,000m3 of peat and forming shaped bunds with material, 70,000m3 cut / fill exercise in conjunction with lime stabilisation works. All buildings & external tank slabs will be supported on precast driven piles. The main distillery building features traditional Ashlar stone externally and traditional slate roofing, the remaining buildings are steel portal frames with composite cladding externally.
