€20 million investment in Scotch Hall will create over 300 jobs
Labour Deputy, Gerald Nash, has welcomed the announcement by NAMA that they will invest €20 million in completing Phase 2 of the Scotch Hall Shopping Centre in Drogheda creating over 300 jobs.
“This is fantastic news for the town, hot on the heels of the recent announcements by Yapstone and Netag that they are to locate their European HQs in Drogheda. This will create 150 permanent jobs and at least 150 during construction. In total the last few weeks has seen 540 jobs announced for Drogheda.
“Phase 2 of Scotch Hall will consist of an eight screen cinema, five restaurants and a major retail anchor. Work on the site ceased five years ago and speculation had mounted that the project would never be completed. This is a shovel ready project. Work will begin straight away. I’m glad that all the representations that have been made to NAMA have been successful. The taxpayer needs to start seeing some return on the money they have pumped into NAMA.”
