Oaklee delivers 39 new homes at Bentley Villas in Dún Laoghaire

Oaklee has marked the delivery of 39 new homes at Bentley Villas in Dún Laoghaire with a walkthrough of the completed development, attended by project partners and key stakeholders.

The event brought together those involved in the scheme’s delivery to view the finished homes and celebrate the completion of a project that is already beginning to welcome residents.

Occupants have already started moving in, with the development providing much-needed, high-quality and sustainable homes in a well-connected urban location. The scheme comprises 27 one-bedroom apartments, 11 two-bedroom apartments and one three-bedroom apartment, all delivered for general needs social housing in Dún Laoghaire town centre. Its proximity to public transport, local services and amenities reflects Oaklee’s commitment to delivering housing that meets a range of needs while supporting the creation of sustainable communities.

Bentley Villas was delivered through a strong collaborative approach involving Bank of Ireland as main funder, alongside Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, the Housing Agency, the Department of Housing and developer KavCo. The project highlights the importance of partnership between approved housing bodies, local authorities, funders and delivery partners in bringing schemes from concept through to completion.

Welcoming partners to the development, Oaklee CEO Sharon Cosgrove said: “At Oaklee, our purpose is to deliver homes that help people and communities live, thrive and prosper. Seeing these homes finished and occupied brings that purpose to life. The real achievement goes beyond construction and milestones; it is realised when residents move in and a house becomes a home.”

Senior representatives from Bank of Ireland attended the walkthrough, underlining the bank’s continued commitment to supporting the delivery of social and affordable housing. John Feeney, CEO of Corporate & Commercial Banking, highlighted the organisation’s €1 billion fund aimed at delivering up to 15,000 homes by 2028, noting the speed and effectiveness of collaboration on the Bentley Villas scheme.

Representatives from Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council, including An Cathaoirleach Cllr Jim Gildea, also attended, recognising the importance of partnership in addressing housing need. He noted the role such developments play in strengthening communities and supporting people to move off housing lists.

Stephen O’Neil, Director at Developer KavCo said: “It’s great to see Bentley Villas come full circle, from initial design through to completion. This is a true regeneration project, delivering high-quality homes in a well-connected part of Dublin.

At KavCo Group, we are focused on consistently delivering quality schemes like this, with over 1,000 homes currently in our pipeline across Dublin over the next two to three years.”

With residents settling in, Bentley Villas is already establishing itself as a vibrant new community.
