Dobbin+Company Architects launches

A new architectural studio has opened in Dublin with a mission to redefine how housing, commercial reuse, and civic projects are delivered in Ireland. Founded by architect John Dobbin, Dobbin+Company combines design rigour with development expertise.

Bridging urban intelligence with commercial pragmatism, and harnessing emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, the practice aims to bring speed, certainty, and economy to every stage of the development process.

John Dobbin, Founding Director of Dobbin+Company, said: “The future of Irish architecture is as much about intelligence as it is about form. We are committed to designing buildings that are economically viable, spatially generous, and politically possible — and to ensuring those designs can be delivered.”

The studio’s early pipeline spans Low Rise Medium Density (LRMD) housing, civic projects, and the adaptive reuse of redundant office stock. Each project is designed to address national priorities: accelerating housing delivery, supporting public life, and reducing embodied carbon through sustainable reuse.

Working at the intersection of architectural quality and financial viability, Dobbin+Company partners with developers, funders, and local authorities to translate ambitious concepts into planning approvals, deliverable projects, and long-term urban value.

“Our work is grounded in the realities of the city — its constraints, its politics, and its opportunities. By focusing as much on viability as on architectural excellence, we aim to deliver design that is smart, strategic, and deeply contextual”, added John.

At a moment when Ireland’s development landscape demands new approaches, Dobbin+Company represents a new model of practice — commercially astute, environmentally responsible, and uncompromisingly design-led.
