Taoiseach to turn sod as more Grangegorman construction gets underway
On Thursday 12th December 2013 at 10.30am An Taoiseach Mr. Enda Kenny T.D will officially turn the sod for a major new site infrastructure project as part of the overall Grangegorman Re-development project.
The infrastructure project, which delivers 200 construction jobs to the Grangegorman site over the next 18 months, is just one of several construction contracts now getting underway under the direction of the Grangegorman Development Agency. By September 2014 over 1,000 DIT students will be located at Grangegorman, followed by 10,000 students in September 2017.
The Grangegorman re-development is not only delivering a new campus for DIT but a range of new health and community facilities, such as the Phoenix Care Centre, which is now fully operational and a new Primary health care centre due to be complete in 2015.
The Site Infrastructure project being launched on Thursday is worth €26 million and will deliver necessary site services such as water, electricity and communications as well as public lighting paths, roads and all of the new sports pitches in Grangegorman.
