Mayor of Cork County Council, Cllr. Barbara Murray, signs final survey Contract to enable construction of Youghal Main Drainage Scheme

Cllr. Barbara Murray has signed a contract appointing RPS Consulting Engineers, Ballincollig, Co. Cork to carry out pre-construction structural surveys for the €22 million Youghal Main Drainage Scheme.

The surveys, of approximately 800 properties in Youghal, are the final works to be completed to enable commencement of the construction of the Scheme.

The scheme involves upgrading the existing waste water collection network and provision of a waste water treatment plant to the north of the town capable of treating 16,000 population equivalent.  It also includes the construction an outfall to the Blackwater Estuary.

The council’s representative on this project is Atkins, Unit 2, 2200 Cork Airport Business Park, Cork.
