In recent years, IDA Ireland has broadened and deepened its portfolio embracing not just large multinational corporations (MNCs), but also working closely with fast growth companies, who aspire to be the MNCs of the future. This focus is part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs. Today’s announcements represent the results of this focus.
Making the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said: ‘A key part of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs is ensuring that we attract more fast-growing start-ups and emerging companies to locate in Ireland, so that they establish deep roots here from early in their growth and make a major impact on our economy. Both Enterprise Ireland and IDA have key roles to play in this, and last year we established a joint EI/IDA management team to target more jobs from these areas.’
‘Today’s announcement that 4 more high-growth emerging companies are locating operations here, with the creation of 90 jobs in Dublin across a range of sectors is great news for Ireland. Through continued implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs we are determined to ensure that more fast-growing start-ups and emerging companies locate and develop in Ireland, creating the jobs we need.’
Commenting on the announcement, Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland said, ‘IDA has set up a specific division to focus on bringing in these high-potential companies to Ireland at an early stage of their development. We want to encourage the Googles of the future to come and set up in Ireland. Ireland is the ideal place for firms to expand their businesses into Europe and further afield.’
