Craigavon pharmaceutical firm Almac creates 229 jobs
It is part of a £13.7m investment in two core areas of its business. Firstly a new development facility is to be established for its pharmaceutical development service.
It is also to expand production of products for export markets.
The jobs are to be filled over the next three years and Invest NI is giving £2m to the project.
Economy Minister Arlene Foster said: “This investment is good news for Craigavon and will reinforce Northern Ireland’s position in the wider life sciences sector.”
She said the new jobs would deliver £5.5m annually in salaries.
Almac was formed in 2002 born out of Galen Holdings which was founded in 1968 by Sir Allen McClay.
Its global headquarters are in Craigavon, although it has other facilities in the UK and US. Source: BBC News
